Moved My Blog

Hello everyone! Well seems I have been having alot of problems with blogger recently and I am, to say the least, very frustrated. I have moved my blog over to Wordpress. It has taken a couple days to get used to the setup process but I think I am getting the hang of it, well the most improtant things like posting and subscribing anyway. Wordpress doesn't have as many templates and they want you to pay for an upgrade for different fonts but I figured for the hassle I have been having with blogger, it would def be to my benefit to move it.
I would luv for you to keep following, so please go on over and subscribe.
Have a great day!

June Cards

The first card is for my DD's birthday. The tag pulls out and I attached a gift card to the back. The papers I used were from "DCWV" Stack 7. Turned out kind of wild and crazy.

The second card was a fathers day card for my dad. All the papers were from "Close to My Heart" It's a guy thing paper pack. Same concept as the birthday card except more masculine.
My third card creation was for my DH for fathers day. I found a lighthouse clip art online and used the "Make the Cut" software to cut it out. This software is great for cutting fonts and clip art if you don't have what you need on a Cricut cartridge.
That's it for June cards. I did get two layouts almost done. I am kind of stuck on what I want to do to finish them. When I finally figure it out, I will post the finished layouts.
Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy your day.
Happy Crafting!
Until next time,

Small Craft Scrapbooking Room

I just wanted to share pics of my newly decorated craft room. I am starting with the closet that I utilized as storage space. This is a very small space and using the closet really gave me the extra space that I needed. I found this little storage unit at a garage sale and it works perfectly in the closet. The top shelf holds my stamps. The second shelf holds my stamp pads. The plastic containers have my 8 1/2 x 11 patterned paper. The bottom drawers hold my stickers and misc tools. The top picture is my antique picnic baskets that I use to hold my tole painting books and patterns. I luv using unexpected things for storage.
I painted the desk, the shelving unit, the walls and spray painted the wicker baskets. I went with an aqua color and brown. In the corner is a bakers rack I purchased when I had my store. I didn't get rid of it thinking one day I would use it and I was right. It holds my printer, cricut cartridges, 12x12 card stock and my favorite craft tool, my cricut. I would like to have a rug in here someday. I'm keeping my eyes open for just the right one at a decent price. I also need to make some cute things for the walls but not sure what I want.
This is underneath my table. I keep my 8 1/2 x 11 card stock and scraps in this. All my scrap card stock is filed by color and makes it so simple to just go right to that file if I need a piece of a certain color. The file system to the right is my patterned paper pads.
This is a shot of my table and shelving storage area. The table was a throw away at a local business and it works perfectly for my room. The top was, lets say, less than pretty, so I bought contact paper and with the help of my DH, got it looking pretty awesome. I luuuv this table, gives me plenty of space to scrapbook. My sewing machine doesn't normally sit there but I happened to be using it today. I sewed up a piece of fabric for the end of the table and hung it with a tension rod. Hides the end of the table when you are looking in there from the living room. If you look to the right, I have curtain rods hung on the wall to hold my punches. Now that I am looking at it, I wish I would have hung the shelves a little higher and hung the punches underneath. Probably would have been easier to get to the punches.
This is my shelving which we purchased from Home Depot. My DH helped me hang it (actually I didn't do much but supervise hehehehe). He did a wonderful job. I luuuv it. Top shelf is for family photos. Second shelf I have my ribbon storage and my flowers are in the ball canning jars.
Third shelf is misc. stuff. The storage container on the right is a nuts and bolts storage container that I purchased at Wal Mart in the tool department, which I keep the buttons all separated by color.
That's about it for now. Hope this inspires you to get organized and proves that you don't need a ton of space to have a wonderful place to create. Happy Crafting everyone!
Until Next time,

MPS Birthday Card Challenge

Hi everyone! This is a card made for my youngest sons 20th birthday.
I had a picture of his s-10 and adjusted the color and came up with this color combination.
Thought the ribbon and patterned paper went perfectly together. He no longer has this truck and thought this would be a great idea. He loved it so much he hung it on his frig in his apartment. Made me feel good that he liked it that much.
Stop on over to MPS blog and check out all the great birthday projects.
Have a great day everyone!
Until next time,
Sherri

Another V' day card

Hi again everyone! received Mary's email on her valentine card this morning and new I had to try this layout ASAP. Thanks Mary for all your great inspirational tutorials and projects. I used non traditional valentine colors and have to tell you the inspiration, besides Mary's card, was this black and white trim I found at Hobby Lobby. It kind of reminds me of the bakers twine except it is silkier. When I cut the ends it wanted to unravel so I got my glossy accents out and dabbed a drop of that on the ends and that worked perfectly. You can see the trim in the picture below, along with the other items I used to make this card.

This was a fun card to make. Better go for now. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day.

Until Next time,

Valentine's Cards

It's a wintery snowy day here in central Illinois and a perfect day to stay in and work on some projects I have been wanting to get done. Thought I would share my valentine card creations.

This card is inspired by Robyn at My Pink Stamper
This card is one of my creations, simple and not too fussy. Used waxy flax wrapped around the card and tied a chipboard heart to center.

These cards are inspired by Ruthie. I used the layout but changed the octopus out with hearts and "love" letters. The love letters is a block stamp which I embossed with red tinsel embossing powder then cut the letters out and popped them out with pop dots. The red hearts are cut from the Doodlecharms cartridge. All of the patterned paper is K&Co valentine stack.
Thanks so much for looking.
